Never Give Up
When I was 13 years old, I was an avid soccer player and loved running around on the field. Ironically, that’s where I had my first seizure. It came out of nowhere.

It was a typical March in 2003. Each day, I would commute an hour to an elementary school in Queens, where I taught a computer-skills course. Suddenly, my routine was shattered: I had a seizure in front of the entire class.
Impending doom. It happens every time I am about to experience a seizure. It comes from a place deep inside, and it is very hard to describe. It is not anxiety or worry but more like a feeling that something bad is about to happen.
It is often difficult to describe how a seizure feels to someone who has never experienced one.
